Teaching

Tyagi explains difficult concepts clearly and students repeatedly describe him as kind, passionate, and approachable. Many reviews say he posted recorded lectures, slides, and practice materials, and he was available for questions and office hours.

Exams

Tyagi's exams were hard in some years, but recent reviews say practice problems made them manageable. One 2026 review says the tests were only 30% of the grade, so strong lab work could offset them.

Grading

Tyagi gave no exam curve in one recent review. Several reviews say he offered extra credit, early-submit bonuses, or occasional quiz curves.

Workload

The class had many assignments, labs, quizzes, and projects, and several reviews say the workload was heavy. Some reviews say the projects were easy or fun if you watched the lectures, but others say assignments became harder later.

Policies

One 2026 review says lab attendance counted toward the grade. Several reviews say lectures and labs were recorded, which helped students catch up after missing class.

Tips
  • Do the practice problems and review materials before exams.
  • Stay on top of assignments because the material builds and later work can get harder.
  • Turn in work early when possible to earn extra credit or bonus points.

The extension's real panel, rebuilt here with live data from the AggieSB+ API (CSCE312, Spring 2026, captured 2026-10-25). On TAMU's registration site it slides in beside the section list. The registration page behind it is a simplified mock-up.

Why I built it

Every semester Texas A&M students cross-checked three different sites by hand to pick classes: one for grade distributions, one for professor reviews, and the registration portal itself. AggieSB+ puts all of it in one view, right inside registration.

What I did

  • Founded and built the first version of the platform and Chrome extension, now used by 900+ Texas A&M students.
  • Recruited and onboarded 3 contributors to co-maintain it, setting the architecture and reviewing their changes.
  • Engineered an LLM pipeline turning 90,000+ reviews into cited summaries for 5,000+ professors, auto-rejecting unsupported claims and eliminating 86% of API calls to fit a free quota.
  • Built data pipelines loading 5.7M+ student grades from 14 years and 140,000+ class sections into PostgreSQL, powering grade distributions and open-seat alerts.
